The leaders are Sweden and Poland.
Statistical office Eurostat released the latest figures on the spread of electric vehicles in the EU by the end of 2018.
So, at the end of last year the EU was only 2 million electric and hybrid vehicles. It’s less than 1% of the total number of cars, which is 262 million units.
Only in five EU countries the number of electric cars and hybrids more than 1% of the total number of cars. The leaders are Sweden and Poland, where the number of electric vehicles is 2.4% and 1.9%. Followed by the United Kingdom (1.5%), France (1.4%) and Belgium (1.2 percent).
